〜 About Me 〜
Hi, I'm Mel!
〜 A Qualified counsellor on the Gold Coast.
I’ve spent more than ten years sitting alongside people through some of life’s harder seasons, children making sense of big feelings, parents stretched thin, women carrying far more than they should have to hold alone.
A Little More About Me
I’m Mel Clemmans, a counsellor based in Worongary on the Gold Coast. I work with individuals, couples and families across the region, with particular experience supporting children, teens and neurodivergent young people.
My approach is warm, practical and deeply relational. I draw on evidence-based methods like CBT and ACT, but more than any technique, I believe what helps most is feeling genuinely heard.
I’m a registered member of the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) and hold a Master of Counselling alongside qualifications in Education and Disability Support. Before counselling became my vocation, I spent a decade working directly with neurodivergent children in educational settings, and that experience continues to shape everything about how I show up.
Every person who walks through the door deserves to be met as a whole human being. Not a presenting issue. Just a person.
〜 A little more personal 〜
Originally from Mozambique, I made my way to Australia from Durban more than twenty years ago, and the Gold Coast is very much home now.
I’m a wife of twenty-six years, a mother of three, and someone who finds her own steadiness in long beach walks and the sound of the ocean. The salt and sand help. They usually do.
